Bad Dream notes & lyrics
(Monica Grabin - 1995)
This is a song about my kids. They're all grown up now, but when they were little, they'd show up sometimes at my bedside with big, frightened eyes, and it always amazed me that I had the power to soothe their fears.
LYRICS
You wake me up in the middle of the night,
Climb in my bed and hold me tight.
I tell you everything's alright.
Bad dream, bad dream tonight.
You look at me in a certain way,
There's not a thing that you have to say.
Pretty soon you feel OK.
Bad dreams they never stay.
I feel your head underneath my chin,
Feel the grip that you've got me in.
Your love it makes my senses swim,
... bad dreams begin.
You hold my hand in the parking lot.
You don't want to be where I am not.
What is this crazy power I've got
To chase bad dreams away.
I take you back into your room.
You're not afraid to be alone.
I sure miss you when you're gone.
Sweet dreams until the dawn.
You wake me up in the middle of the night,
Climb in my bed and hold me tight.
I tell you everything's alright.
Bad dream, bad dream tonight.
